Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-31
1. The service
SignFox is a multi-tenant electronic-signature platform. It lets organizations send documents for signature, capture electronic and cryptographic (PAdES) digital signatures, and produce a tamper-evident audit trail and certificate of completion. SignFox is available as a self-hosted product and as a hosted service (SignFox Cloud). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
2. Acceptable use
You may not use SignFox to send unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive documents; to impersonate others; to forge or misattribute signatures; to distribute malware; or to violate any applicable law. We may suspend accounts engaged in abuse of the service or of its recipients.
3. Customer responsibilities
You are responsible for the content of the documents you send, for using the service lawfully, and for choosing appropriate signer-identity verification for your use case (email link, one-time codes, Aadhaar eSign, or digital certificates). You are also responsible for the accuracy of recipient details and for safeguarding your account credentials and any signing certificates you upload.
4. Legal basis of electronic signatures
Electronic and digital signatures are legally recognized in many jurisdictions, including under India's Information Technology Act, 2000 (Sections 3 and 3A) and the U.S. ESIGN Act. SignFox captures the evidence commonly required to support such signatures — consent records, identity verification, timestamps, and cryptographic integrity. This is provided for information only and is not legal advice; certain document types are excluded from electronic execution in some jurisdictions, and you should confirm suitability with your own counsel.
5. Subscriptions and billing (SignFox Cloud)
SignFox Cloud plans are billed via Razorpay on a recurring subscription basis. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with prior notice effective from your next billing cycle. Self-hosted licenses are governed by the license terms provided at purchase.
6. Intellectual property
You (or your organization) own the documents you upload and the signed documents produced from them. We own the SignFox software, branding, and all associated intellectual property. You receive a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service; nothing in these terms transfers ownership of the software to you.
7. Availability
We work to keep the service reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Scheduled maintenance and factors outside our control may affect availability. For self-hosted deployments, availability is under your control.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SignFox shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of profits, data, or business, arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms. On termination of a cloud account, you may export your documents for a reasonable period before deletion in line with our retention practices.
10. Governing law, changes, and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts at the seat of the operating entity shall have jurisdiction. We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision and material changes will be notified to account owners. Questions? Email hello@signfox.co.
